Doune Castle Wedding.

On 24th July, 2009 we had the pleasure of providing wedding photography for Colin and Kitty at the impressive Doune Castle in Stirlingshire. You may recall that it was the main location used for the filming of Monty Pythons “The Holy Grail”.

The photography coverage we provided on this day was from bridal and groom preparations right through to the first dance. On this occasion we had a principal photographer Stuart Walker, second photographer and a visiting wedding photographer from Ireland. With all the angles covered we captured fantastic images.

Shots of the bride and her group preparing for the wedding add to the full story of the day, especially as the time can pass by so quickly.

An added bonus to the day was the fact that the bride and her family are from Norway, and wore the traditional national dress – the groom and his family wearing the traditional Scottish kilt.

The weather on this day was good, and allowed us to make the most of the Castle’s location.

The reception venue chosen by the couple was the Huntingtower Hotel near Perth – itself an impressive location.

Continuing with a grand theme, the wedding cake was a huge replica of the location of bride and groom’s first meeting – a North Sea oil platform.

Wedding photography coverage concluded with the first dance – a ceilidh that got everyone up onto the dance floor.

Congratulations to Ian and Lindsay who married at the Crowwood Hotel near Glasgow on 18th July, 2009.

We were able to capture some beautiful images of the newlyweds at nearby Hogganfield Loch just before the heavens opened with a torrential downpour.

Park Circus Wedding – Peter and Caroline

Congratulations to Peter and Caroline who married at the Registration Office at 22 Park Circus in Glasgow. The couple had an intimate wedding with just their parents present (and the photographer of course!)

The venue is a grand building that used to be the Italian Consulate and is very popular with couples.

This week’s wedding took us to a new venue, the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh. Drew and Lauren had family and friends from across the globe come to celebrate their marriage, and I’m sure everyone was equally impressed with the grand venue. The library and great hall were particularly impressive and offered interesting oportunities for wedding photography in Edinburgh.

Wedding in Rothesay, Isle of Bute

One of the great things about being a wedding photographer in Scotland is the chance to visit some fantastic historical castle locations. Our recent coverage on 16th May was a good example of this since the wedding was held at Rothesay Castle on the Isle of Bute, situated a short ferry ride from the west coast of Scotland.

The Isle of Bute is a beautiful area and offered some wonderful photographic opportunities. The castle is situated in the middle of the small town of Rothesay and is a popular venue for marriages – in fact, this was the second time that we have been commissioned to provide photography coverage there. This time, the special day was for Chris and Joanne.

Another Colzium House Wedding!

Sometimes coincidence can be a funny thing. Just like the 1st May wedding in our last blog post, we were back at Colzium House in Kilsyth on 2nd May – this time for the wedding of Keith and Lisa. Being a wedding photographer in Glasgow gives us the opportunity to cover ceremonies at many locations, but the chance to visit the same local venue twice in two days was unusual.

It was also a ‘connected’ wedding for other reasons – we were recommended to Keith and Lisa by their friends, who’s marriage we covered in 2008, and the ceremony was carried out by the same registrar.
